I am a poet and an artist. For most of my life I have expressed myself in this way and see art making as a path and a process. For me poetry is an expression of spiritual essence or truth, or the attempt to express this, or the attempt to arrive at it. I work in mixed media visuals in which I combine paint, objects from nature, vintage ephemera, handmade paper, photographs I've taken (some of which I used to print in the darkroom) to enhance the meaning of the words and evoke more layers of feeling. More recently I've been bringing the various types of work I do into book form.
